Trustpilot surpasses 100 million consumer reviews milestone

Company remains focussed on being the world’s most transparent and trusted review source

09 October 2020 - London, New York, Copenhagen - Trustpilot, the leading global reviews platform, today announced that it has exceeded 100 million consumer reviews on Trustpilot.com, covering 400,000 companies and websites globally.

Peter Muhlmann, Founder and CEO, Trustpilot said, “Reaching such a milestone is a testament to reviewers across the globe who continue to share their stories and experiences, safe in the knowledge that their voice will be heard by companies and other consumers. It’s also a testament to the hundreds of thousands of companies who understand that the best way to build your brand and earn consumer trust is by listening to their consumers and acting on their feedback.”

Trustpilot is committed to being the world’s most transparent and trusted source of reviews. The platform is open for any consumer to review any company they’ve experienced, and for any company to invite and openly respond to consumer reviews. Trustpilot invests heavily in technology, people and policies to ensure the integrity of the content and leads the world in making information about how businesses use its platform totally transparent.

With the Coronavirus pandemic leading to a surge in online spending by as much as 50%-70%* in some countries and industries, the importance of reviews has also never been greater. 89%** of people now look to reviews before making a purchase and trust them second only to family and friends as a reliable source of information.

Peter Muhlmann continued: “Hitting this milestone is a huge achievement but, it’s not just about the volume of reviews on our platform. It’s our continued ambition to be the most trusted and transparent reviews platform in the world. People want to know the information they are seeing is true and accurate - that’s why we’re continually striving to improve our capabilities with the best technology and people.”

In July, Muhlmann announced a series of new initiatives in his Trust Promise. The initiatives, set to be implemented by the end of 2020, show Trustpilot’s ongoing commitment to leading the reviews industry to ensure that the trust in online reviews remains, and they continue to be useful for both consumers and businesses.
