Berlin, November 1, 2015 – Trustpilot, the leading review community for global online shoppers, has since its establishment in 2007 opened offices in London, New York, and most recently Melbourne. From November 1, 2015, Trustpilot can add Berlin to this list.
“Germany is one of the countries in Europe where the most consumers buy goods and services online. It is therefore a big and important step for us to open an office in Berlin, so we can ensure close contact with the German market,” says Kim Konstantin Sølbeck, Trustpilot’s Vice President of Sales for Continental Europe.
Trustpilot’s new office is located in central Berlin, in the popular neighborhood of Kreuzberg. To begin with, there will be nine employees working from the German office, but that number is expected to grow within a short time.
Earlier this year, Trustpilot raised $73.5 million in a Series D funding round, and the large capital injection was a catalyst for the company’s growth. Today Trustpilot has customers in 65 countries and employs 500 people that represent 40 different nationalities. There are 15 million reviews of more than 120,000 businesses on the Trustpilot community, and according to Trustpilot, they will not be stopping here:
“It is our clear ambition to become the global standard for online service reviews. In this context, Germany is an important market and our new office is a natural step towards meeting our goal,” says Kim Konstantin Sølbeck.
Trustpilot’s positive growth has most recently earned the company a spot on GP Bullhound’s list of unicorn foals, which designates the firm’s predictions for Europe’s next billion dollar companies. It is a prominent list, which places Trustpilot in the same category as music streaming service, Spotify, video game developer, Mojang, and online clothing retailer, ASOS.
Trustpilot is an online review community helping consumers choose with confidence while enabling companies to grow their business. Founded in 2007 by CEO Peter Holten Mühlmann, Trustpilot empowers consumers that are considering making a purchase by providing them with the easy to access information they value most—the experience of others. Trustpilot produces a TrustScore for businesses based on recent reviews. Trustpilot’s community is live in 27 countries. Every day, more than 10,000 consumers sign up to Trustpilot and more than 500,000 reviews are posted on the community each month.
